Sir Christopher Wren built 51 churches in the City of London
after the fire of 1666.
This walk takes in several of the famous churches associated
with Wren:
St Mary-le-Bow, St Margaret Lothbury, St Lawrence Jewry, St
Stephen Walbrook and others.
One few of the remaining ‘original’ churches,
St.Mary Abchurch, is
considered to be the one Wren would most readily recognise
were he
here to see it. Others have been altered due to War and Fire.
This stroll is good for architecture and some famous people
connected with the places we visit.
(Depending on times, some churches we can go inside.)
